Lucy loves a lot of things, but she especially loves her mouse Nibbler. When she comes home to find her mouse gone she is devastated. In the end her brother Max saves the day and ends up having quite a surprise for Lucy!

Week # 112 Ezra Ylav
In this story the Bob family go to the beach. They didn't expect to have a tsunami while they were there! Thank goodness that Junior Bob was there to save the day!

There is fighting going on in this story. Was it because they both liked the same person or because only one of them could be on the football team? Could there be a new Fight Club starting? Listen in to find out!

It took years to figure out where the girls went, but the new owners of the house finally did figure it out.

On recess some boys started messing with some bees.  What would expect the bees to do? Well that's not what happens at all! Find out how the bees end up making the boys rich...

Should you run or should you fight? If you run the Greek archers will pick you off. After the massacre the elders of the village send the people out into the world to find a new home. This story has a whole new take on who the first Americans really were. 

Hannah was sure that she would have a new sister, but that's not what ended up happening.  This touching personal narrative takes the listener on the wondrous adventure of a loving big sister getting a newborn baby brother! This is a feel good story that everyone should take a moment to listen to!

It is the year 2035. My sister and I are excited for the trip! It is time for the launch and we will be on our way to Pluto. Our ship gets hit and we are thrown off course. As a result we discover a new planet.  It works out to be a great place to live! Although we never see our Mom and Dad again, my sister and I are able to live out our days happily for the rest of our lives.

You should check out this spin off fairy tale where Mark encounters a giant, but is fortunately protected by a kindly old woman who keeps the giant from discovering him.  When he takes the flute, however, it makes enough noise to get the giant's attention.  Does Mark survive the wrath of the giant? Have a listen and find out for yourself!

Peter Pan comes to your window and it's off to the second star on the right and straight on til morning!  Join the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell and even Captain Hook on this fairy tale adventure sequel. Wendy's daughter is off to explore Neverland this time!

Week # 28 - Olivia
Almost everyone loves ice cream.  Samuel J. Creamer was working on creating a fun new treat but his father didn't believe that he could.  It took five long years before Sam was able to come back to his original science experiment and actually make ice cream.  He proved to his dad that by continuing to try to stay positive and not losing hope nothing is impossible!

What would you do if you found a five dollar bill? Would a trip to the candy store be in the cards for you? The main character of this story has quite an adventure along the way! Complete with his own sound effects our young author keeps you wondering what could possibly happen next...and just when you think that it is all about to end...his mother gives him another five dollar bill and it's off to the candy store once again!

Week # 21    Diana

This is indeed a crazy adventure.  A teacher brings a bag to school and sets it on a desk and then leaves to make copies. The bag starts to move and the kids in the class begin to speculate what could be inside.  You will have to listen to this story to find out what was in the bag and if the kids got into any trouble. There could definitely be a lesson learned here!

Gunner is a special dog.  One day he runs away and ends up spending the night in the pound, and that is just the first of many adventures that he will have as a runaway pup. Despite his many naughty habits, his owner stays true.  Can you buy a chain strong enough to hold this boy? Should you microchip your pets? Find out in this lovely tale of a family and their pet.

Do you know how to manage your impulsivity? These two former second grades address a couple of issues in this story to deal with just that.  One of the 16 habits of mind, managing your impulsivity, can help you to avoid problems. Your day will go so much better if you make good choices at school with your teacher and friends!

Week # 18    Megan   

The Princess Ivy is lonely.  She wants a pet that will keep her company day and night! Ivy thinks big at first, but finally settles on the very best pet for her needs…a kitty cat.  After waiting for eight long weeks she finally has Hershey, and their lonely days are over!  As a result, they both live happily ever after.

Week # 17    Hannah Alivia Ari

Thinking about your thinking is a habit of mind called metacognition.  By using a number of different strategies to solve your problems and being in touch with what you are thinking learning becomes easier.  Be aware of how your actions can affect others and remember to think about your thinking every day.

Week # 16    Megan Titus

Another important habit from the 16 habits of mind is striving for accuracy.  Taking the extra time when you are taking a test pays off. You can avoid a retake if you remember to be careful with your work and strive for accuracy.  It takes a little extra work initially, but in the end it will make your life easier.

Week # 15    Diana Henry

These former 4th graders deal with thinking flexibly, one of the 16 habits of mind.  Whether it is mathematics or geography it is important to be flexible in your thinking.  Looking at problems from a different angle can help with understanding.  Using tools to help you and considering all of your options can make learning a concept easier.

Week # 14    Evan

With the right kind of training the Karate Kid is able to save the day in this fictional tale!  When a handful of bank robbers try to get away with their crooked deed, Davis is able to knock them all out.  Late that same night he saves the town from dangerous psychos.  You learn from this story that with hope and heart you can achieve anything.

Week # 13    Evan Delaney

Gathering data using all of your senses is yet another important part of the 16 habits of mind.    Your vision, hearing, taste, touch, and smell can aid you in the process of gathering data from around you.  Have you ever eaten rocks?  In this story you will learn a recipe for making edible sedimentary rocks.

Week # 12    Sam Liam

Being creative, using your imagination and being innovative is another of the 16 habits of mind. In this story, with a little help from Dad and Mrs. Tobin, these former 3rd grade boys work together to build a treehouse.  In order to get an entire month off from homework they use their new treehouse to invent a bottle cap rocket launcher.

Week # 11    Ascher

This is a true account of a family adventure to an island near Florida.  While snorkeling, Ascher and his mom have an encounter with the “cow of the sea”.  The manatee is a large mammal that lives in this part of the world, and is not something that we are all likely to see up close and personal!

Week # 10    James Ascher Jaidyn

This story involves questioning and posing problems, another of the 16 habits of mind.  These three former 3rd graders help one another realize the value of learning by asking questions.  Being curious leads to learning, and not being afraid to pose questions is an important way to make that learning happen.

Week # 9    Jonas

Will Jack’s friends remember that it is his birthday?  When he got to school it would seem as if they hadn’t.  As the day progresses in this fictional piece, Jack discovers that by the end of the day his friends haven’t let him down after all.  All ends happily with a surprise party hosted in his honor!

Week # 8    Rosemary

The Puppy and the Angel are lucky to find one another.  In this fictional story a puppy who lives in an old box in the alleyway finds his way to a very special cloud and a very good friend.  Both characters benefit by helping each other out.  Make a wish on a magic rose and you never know what might happen!  You may indeed live happily ever after!

Week # 7    Connor

All of the fish escape the ef5 tornado except for Murry.  He is blown from Salt Lake City to the Zambesi River in Africa!  Murry found a lake to explore.  After finding a shark and a golden knight he realizes that the tornado was a time machine.  In the end he is transported back to his home.

Week # 6    Kairi

Bob The Blob is made of green slime and smells of rotten fish, but should that stop you from liking him?  After all he might save you in the end!  Don’t judge a book by its cover is an underlying theme in this fictional tale.  Helping others in our world is important!  Don’t invent excuses to avoid being there for others.

Week # 5    Hunter Violet Jonas

These former 2nd graders realize that being persistent is an essential habit of mind.  If you remember to never give up the writing and math skills at school will come, especially if you allow time for understanding to sink in.  As Violet says, “You should never give up.  You need to persevere until the task is complete.”

Week # 4        Kairi Conner Rosemary

This group of former 2nd graders addresses the importance of listening with understanding and empathy, one of the sixteen habits of mind.  They have an opportunity to learn at school how important it is to pay attention and be empathetic with others.  Life improves for all three of these learners because they learn to listen.

Week # 1 - Arianna & Lydia This was the very first story produced by the Blue Zucchinni. These girls were in 1st grade at the time, and their story is about one of the 16 Habits of Mind. This story focuses on the importance of being persistent. Work at school with spelling and math becomes easier with practice.
