edition of their regular ghost walk for The Poe Project. Dress up in period costume is encouraged, or as a ghost, or in Halloween attire, or wear your con outfit. Enjoy the company of other Ghost enthusiasts while you learn some of the haunted history of Main Street. Funds raised through ticket sales benefit the Veteran's Art Center. The Poe Project is a month-long festival springing off with Poe Week from October 1st through 7th annually, culminating on the date of Edgar Allan Poe's death. We invest in our community by giving a portion of the proceeds from each and every event to the local non-profit of the sponsor’s choice. The Poe Project is spearheaded and presented by Geek Parties of the Grand Valley. The sponsor of this Ghost Walk is Whispers of the Past, a paranormal organization based in Grand Junction that provides historical walks downtown and in the cemeteries, as well as performs investigations of buildings in the area.

This is your chance to see and hear two legendary performers, trumpet icon Herb Alpert and his wife Lani Hall, Grammy winning vocalist and former lead singer of Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66. Herb Alpert is celebrating a very long career since recording his first hit song, “The Lonely Bull” in 1962. Herb, Lani and their spectacular band perform an eclectic mix of classic Tijuana Brass, Brazilian jazz, some Beatles, American standards and Brasil ’66 songs as well as many surprises. The shows are informal as Herb loves to answer questions from the audience about his and Lani’s music careers, A & M Records and the many iconic artists they have both worked with over the past fifty years. The show features a giant video screen that displays hundreds of classic photos, videos and various memorabilia from Herb and Lani’s music careers as well as Herb’s painting and sculptures. This is a momentous and uplifting show from treasured artists Herb Alpert and Lani Hall who put out something really honest and we all feel the Love. “I like to make uplifting music. I get energy from a concert. I have this opportunity to make people feel good.” —Herb Alpert
