Our annual Open Mic Night is Tuesday, December 3 from 6-7:30 pm at the Art Center in Grand Junction. Bring your short works and poetry and take the more...0 mic! This is a spoken word event. Our total time is an hour-and-a-half. Last year we had several readers, so keeping a time limit allowed everyone to have a chance at the mic. We will have a timekeeper again this year, and due to community requests, we are upping the limit to 6 minutes, so plan accordingly. A 30-line poem takes about 2 minutes to read, and a 700-word story takes about 5 minutes. If we can do more than one round, we will. We appreciate RSVPs for seat-planning purposes, and please note that readers will sign up on-site. Doors open 15 minutes early to allow for this.

From: Grand Junction’s Downtown Merchants and Grand Valley’s Entertainers & Music Students, The annual Spirit of more...0 Christmas Walk will be Friday December 13th and will once again be the year’s largest and most varied collection of entertainers at a single event on the Western Slope! We are expecting to have three hundred + roving entertainers performing on Downtown’s Main Street and inside Downtown’s unique shops. Performing will be; music students, barbershop quartets, choirs, jazz bands. Bluegrass pickers and more! Bring your neighbors and sing a carol! Of course, Santa Claus will be there as usual, along with horse drawn carriage rides. Businesses will be open late from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM and will be serving complimentary hot drinks & treats. It is totally free!
