Started in 2002 with a rockin' alt.country format, Junkyard Twang evolved into a roots-based Americana variety show that always features ALL NEW RELEASES and NO REPEATS (from the same album). More bang for your listening buck! It's creatively programmed into 6 sets (rock, twang, shamblin', alt.gospel, ladies choice, singer-songwriter). Things start loud and upbeat then gradually mellow into what is essentially folk music. Expect to hear rock, blues, country, trad jazz, bluegrass, old timey, gospel, folk, and everything in between. Junkyard Twang is designed for those radio listeners who like familiar music styles but are adventurous enough to want to hear the newest, most innovative stuff out there.

I'm a retired old guy. Still have plenty of hair, most of my teeth, and some of my wits left. Moved to Grand Junction in 1998 and comfortable enough to stay. Good ear. Decent guitarist and mandolinist but not much of a singer. Love playing the blues as well as the sound of bluegrass in our high and dry air though it's "too fast" for me to play. Live music hound, most any style. If they can play, I'll go. Really admire bands/performers that are excellent musically but also progressive and original. Very attentive to young musicians as they're usually the source of what's next. Always looking for great singer-songwriters... just a person and a guitar... what more do you need?
