Masters of their trade, they bring grit, skill and abandon to Americana music, bridging old-time, bluegrass and folk traditions into a seamless hybrid of original material that is at once fresh and timeless. With impeccable instrumental chops and vocal harmonies, their engaging versions of the traditional repertoire are punctuated by original compositions. Make no mistake, their consummate musicianship and infectious energy is going to make for a barn burner of a show!

20th Birthday Bash

On October 10th, 2024, the Grand Rivers Humane Society will be celebrating 20 years of finding furever homes for Mesa County homeless dogs and cats more...0 by holding a Birthday Bash in the Lincoln Park Barn. The event will run from 4:30 to 7 pm and will feature dog tricks and training demonstrations, live bluegrass music by Slim Pickings, light refreshments, and of course birthday cake! All Grand Rivers current and prospective volunteers, donors, adopters and foster parents, as well as interested members of the community are invited. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

THE MAIN EVENT: Feats of strength and stamina that will push you to your max... your MAD MAX! Did we mention it's a MAD MAX theme? The winners of the comp will claim a cash prize, ultimate street cred and the title of MASTER OF THE THUNDERDOME! Costumes are encouraged. This is a team competition. An inaugural performance at CMU’s Performing Arts Center provides the perfect setting to Witness Musical EXCELLENCE. This lively and more...0 challenging concert brings to light a trifecta of talent. We start with the pure bliss of Mason’s “A Joyous Trilogy” followed by a dazzling performance of the legendary Ravel’s Piano Concerto, by the spectacular Spencer Myer. Sibelius’ 5th Symphony appropriately ends the concert with the most dynamically challenging sections of the season surrounded by unpredictable silence. When to Arrive: Doors open one hour before the performance; most people arrive 40 minutes early. Concessions are available before the concert and at intermission. Parking: Plenty of parking around Colorado Mesa University Performing Arts Center with no passes needed on weekends or after 5 p.m. on Fridays. Dress Code: Wear what you like; dressing up is optional. General Guide for Applause: Clap for the Concertmaster, Conductor, and after each piece. Etiquette: Please silence devices, limit noise, and be considerate to ensure everyone enjoys the performance.

Live performances of this full-length more...0 ballet will be presented by Western Colorado's premier professional ballet company, Colorado West Performing Arts Company (CWPAC) at Grand Junction's Avalon Theatre and the Montrose Pavilion. This two-act ballet is filled with special animation effects to send you on a magical journey to enjoy with your loved ones, leaving the theatre with plenty to share and remember. Alice's Wonderland features thirteen professional company artists, three trainees, and other local talented youth who auditioned to experience the stage in supporting roles. This show is under two hours including a 20 minute intermission. Opportunities to meet the cast and take photos will follow each performance in the auditorium.
