Colonias Amphitheater in Grand Junction for a summer benefit concert. Hazel Miller & The Collective will perform on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 with 100 % of the proceeds from the concert going to Mesa County Partners. Hazel Miller and her band have performed many times in Grand Junction and each time, they have given a stellar performance. Thank you to our sponsors, Alpine Bank, KJCT, Grand Junction Lifestyle Publications, and Home Loan Insurance who have graciously sponsored Hazel Miller & The Collective for Mesa County Partners. Mesa County Partners provides a variety of services to youth in Mesa County. The One-to-One mentoring program provides positive adult role models to over 140 youth who need emotional support and guidance in their lives. Research shows youth with mentors do better at school and reduce their substance abusing and delinquent behaviors. The Conservation Corps operated by Partners has provided training and employment opportunities for over 150 youth. On Saturday, August 7th, the public is invited to help support Mesa County Partners by enjoying an evening of soulful music and fun with Hazel Miller & The Collective. Tickets are $20.00 for lawn tickets and $40.00 for VIP (includes a drink ticket and a parking ticket) and available at TicketMaster. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:30 PM, rain or shine. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket by supporting Mesa County Partners and enjoy the night with Hazel Miller & The Collective. annual festival. All audience members will be entered for the chance to win prizes at CWP's Rainbow Party immediately after! Slamming Bricks is an intersectional (LBGTQ+ & BIPOC centered) slam poetry competition exploring resistance and liberation in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Riots. Poets from all over the American West compete in four rounds of poetry in a battle for the brick. The competition is scored by a panel of judges, which has included Colorado Poet Laureate, Bobby LeFebre (2020). Slamming Bricks is a free, 21+ event (some exceptions made for performers). A Youtube live stream will also be available for all audiences. Competing for the brick this year: 1. Sarah Swedberg 2. Dalton Telschow 3. Briana Hammerstrom 4. Lydia Gates 5. Kimberly Jarchow 6.
