Hike & Happy Hour Series

In partnership with the Western Slope Conservation Center, we're happy to announce the first hike & happy hour in our summer series: Elk Park more...0 Trail & Delicious Orchards! On Sunday July 8th at 8 AM, we're meeting at the WSCC Office at 204 Poplar Ave in Delta, CO then we're off to hike! After the hike we'll head to Delicious Orchards to grab some drinks together, hang out, and talk public lands and how to keep them safe. Fundraiser for Local Needy Animals

Our pets are our family, they deserve a hand painted portrait! Come on out and paint your pet while simultaneously supporting Graceland Animal Rescue more...0 & Sanctuary! Part of the proceeds will go to the Graceland Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is not a Facility but rather a Foster-based Rescue that relies on foster home within our Grand Junction community to offer temporary sanctuary to our dogs until permanent, loving homes can be found. PICTURE SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, July 9th What you need after registering: * Your favorite picture of your pet! Any pet! Horse, Dog, Cat, Bird, Turtle, even the family fish! Head-shots of your pet are typically the easiest and have the best result! Don't worry about the background in your photo, you can add any background you want when its painting time! We will only sketch the pet. * Email that photo along with your full name and a good contact phone number to CreativeCanvasParty@Gmail.com. Do this for each person coming (if paying for friends). Please put the date of the event in the subject line of the email. One pet per canvas as 2 pets can take too long to paint. PICTURE SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, July 9th * Let me know if you want something special added to your pet for the painting. some people like to add sunglasses, hats, your pets name, etc. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!! The series will engage audiences with a list of 100 diverse books. Audiences are encouraged to read the books, vote from the list of 100, and share their personal connections to the titles. Great American Read Book Discussions at the Central Library June 20 at 11:00am & July 17 at 6:30pm. Meet up with fellow book lovers and share your favorite selections from the Great American Read top 100 list! No need to read all the choices, just come prepared to talk about your top choice! Attend one or both meetings. Seating is limited. Registration required for this program. Sign up in person at the Central Library or by calling 970-243-4442.
