Fundraiser for Food Bank of the Rockies

My name is Marc Allen, I am a local singer/songwriter. I will be hosting and joined on stage by two other local singer/songwriters (Garry Tullio of more...0 Straygrass and Hugh Phillips of The Hugh Phillips Band). We will showcase a few of our tunes and talk about the inspiration behind writing them. Grazing boxes and plates will be available for purchase through Palisade Picnic Co food truck. Ticket for entry will be one non-perishable food item or a donation to The Food Bank of the Rockies. We will have collection boxes and a QR code for donation at the entry.

Questions Melody hears often: Do I need to be on every social media platform? How do I make graphics? Must I post every day? Is it okay to post the same thing on LinkedIn that I post to Instagram? How do I find my fan base? Join Melody for answers to these questions, and to learn how to get started, how to keep going, and why in tarnation you’re on social anyway. You’ll get tips, tricks, and tools. You’ll get know-how. You’ll get some humor mixed in because you know her motto: it can’t be all serious all the time! Stray Grass closes out Music in the Grapevines on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Settle in on the lawn of Two Rivers Winery for an evening with the Grand more...0 Valley’s favorite bluegrass band in the shadow of Colorado National Monument. Bring lawn chairs and a picnic dinner. Wine will be available by the glass or bottle (no other adult beverages allowed). Tickets are $15 at Two Rivers Winery (2087 Broadway), The Art Center (1803 N 7th St) or artcenterguild.org. If not sold out, tickets at the gate are $20. All proceeds benefit the Art Center of Western Colorado. This summer’s concerts are sponsored by ANB Bank and Friends of The Art Center.

Silverton Creates! is a weekend-long celebration of the arts. Visitors can sample a range of creative happenings and experience authentic small-town more...0 mountain culture in the historic town of Silverton, Colorado (elevation 9318 feet). Silverton Creates! will kick off with a free outdoor concert on Friday, September 8, featuring the wildly popular Latin band Nosotros (salsa, jazz, cumbia, rock), hailing from New Mexico. The music will continue throughout the weekend, with American blues musician Cary Morin taking the stage on Saturday evening. Other weekend activities will include open studio tours, heritage activities, hands-on art workshops, demonstrations, performances, healing arts and more!

This year’s History Alive Chautauqua will feature actors portraying five renowned authors: Ernest Hemingway, Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, Nellie Bly, and Rachel Carson. Come learn about their lives and their contributions to literature, journalism, science, and social justice. All events are free and open to the public. History Alive events will take place September 8-9, 2023. See the website for all locations and schedules. Most presentations will be held at Love Recital Hall at CMU, 1221 N 12th St, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
