Carrie is a freelance writer based in Grand Junction, CO who contributes to Spoke+Blossom magazine. She owns and operates Apostrophe Life Coaching and co-owns Hoptocopter Films at which she is the copywriter, editor, and resident voice-over artist.

If you missed Stray Grass in May or can’t get enough Stray Grass, Grand Junction’s favorite bluegrass bland will be at Two Rivers Winery more...0 on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Arrive early with lawn chairs and perhaps a picnic dinner or appetizers for an evening in the shadow of Colorado National Monument. Wine is available for purchase. Gates open at 6 pm, music at 7 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance at the Winery, The Art Center (7th & Orchard) and online at artcenterguild.org. All proceeds benefit the Art Center of Western Colorado.

The Colorado GypsyFest is a 3 day horse show competition for Gypsy Vanner, Drum, and Draft horses. Competition includes English, Western, and Driving more...0 classes. On Saturday evening we are having an expo for the public to showcase this magnificent breed and all they can do! The entire event is open to the public and free of charge and makes a wonderful family outing! We look forward to seeing you there!

Hugh Phillips is a performing singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, more...0 Nashville recording artist, and executive producer hailing from Carbondale Colorado. He is known for his vintage country sound and has just released his first full length album. Featuring twelve original songs recorded in Nashville TN. written in his own unique way of painting the picture of the west he calls home. He traded his life long career as a Toyota Technician and business owner for professional music in 2016. Over the years of performing he has shared the stage with Keller and the Keels, performed with StrayGrass, Shaun Ray, Bluegrass Offenders, and Jerry Stringer Band. He has been described as a modern country bluegrass man, with his heart right smack dab in the middle of the Folk/Americana scene.

Gypsy Vanners are a magnificent, and somewhat rare, breed of small draft horse. These horses were bred specifically to pull the wagon homes, or more...0 vardos, of the many traveling peoples of the British Isles. They are known for their quiet temperament, endurance, and abundance of hair! This expo is in conjunction with the Colorado Gypsy Fest horse show and will showcase the wide variety of uses for this breed, as well as highlighting the Drum horse and larger Draft horses. Come enjoy the performances and learn a little about the breeds! Fun for the whole family, in the beautiful climate-controlled Montrose County Event Center.
