Martin grew up listening to the stories told by her maternal grandmother of her early life homesteading on the plains of Kansas and Oklahoma in the late 1800s. Martin’s determination to chronicle these true stories resulted in the exciting historical novel, A Meadowlark Calling, once described by 20th Century Fox as “a slice of life out of America’s past.” Please join us Feb. 7, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Art Center in Grand Junction for Pat’s slide presentation featuring the real people and places depicted in her book, which is set for filming in 2023 by Talmarc Productions. The WCWF has also requested that Pat recite one or two of her cowboy-style poems!
