Join us as local poet Lisa Wence Connors presents Textures: Considering Sound in Writing. In writing, sound is more than just using sound words, like more...0 whisper or clang. Sound is the actual letters themselves and the sounds they make. Consider what a garden sounds like – long and short I’s, soft S’s and H’s, perhaps? Using Hyacinth or Narcissus, rather than flowers gives the feeling of a quiet morning in the garden. Choosing the right words based on sound can add subtle layers of meaning, tone, and texture to our writing.

The band is made up of some of the finest musicians on Colorado’s front range. They deliver a mixture of heartfelt country, blues, folk and Americana, all inspired by the Arkansas River. A must see!
