Volunteer at KAFM

Volunteers are the core strength of KAFM.  With over 100 volunteer programmers and 130 off-air volunteers, KAFM volunteers come from all walks of life; Young and old, rich and poor, men and women, folks from every part of town and all races make up our volunteer force.

KAFM volunteers serve as the engine that drives the station. From on-air music programming and interviews to Radio Room shows, our own recording studio (Studio D), community events and outreach, maintaining our expanding facilities and grounds, previewing new music to being part of our membership drives.

Volunteers 1999-2003

KAFM volunteers will be kept informed of what's going on at the station through regular e-mails and newsletters detailing new programs, fundraising opportunities, volunteer positions and special events.

Some KAFM volunteer opportunities require specific training, while others can be accomplished with 'on-the-job' training.

Involvement is not limited to the volunteer opportunities listed here.  If you have a special talent or interest, please let us know.  To become a KAFM volunteer fill out and return this brochure to KAFM at 1310 Ute or contact our Operations Manager.

VOLUNTEER HOURS CONTRIBUTED: 15,200!

  • Did you know that in 2006, 223 volunteers contributed 15,200 hours to the station! That incredible number works out to be approximately $273,600 of in-kind support. (The in-kind dollar amount is calculated using the commonly accepted estimate of $18 per hour. In reality many volunteers donate hundreds of hours of professional services that would be billed at a much higher rate!)
  • That kind of volunteer citizen support speaks volumes about the relationship that KAFM has with the community it serves.
  • KAFM is honored and humbled to be a part of such amazing generosity.
