JUNKYARD TWANG -- Paul Rolland

Originally a rockin' alt.country format, now roots-based Americana variety featuring ALL NEW RELEASES.  Creatively programmed into 6 half-hour sets (roots rock, junkyard twang, shamblin', alt.gospel, ladies choice, singer-songwriter), starts loud and upbeat, gradually mellows into what is essentially folk music.  Expect the occasional curveball (swing jazz, protest, cowboy, dreadgrass, etc).  Check out my playlists on Spinitron and my  show MySpace site:  http://www.myspace.com/junkyardtwang.

Bio/inspirations/favorite music:  Gainfully employed old guy.  Still have hair, teeth, and most of my wits.  Member of the music bureau.  Review and language check 100-200+ new CDs a year for the station.  Good ear.  Decent guitarist.  Live music hound, any style.  If they can play, I'll go.  Really admire bands that put a new spin on roots music like Old Crow Medicine Show and the Avett Brothers.  Always looking for the next great singer-songwriter... just a person and a guitar... what more do you need?
