Bringing the best in the boogie woogie, whether it be blues/rock, Delta roots, funk from New Orleans, southern rock, jazz, singer/songwriter, bluegrass…. If it’s got a groove, then the boogie is on!  I learned at a early age that music was the language of the soul and it told a story.  I tell stories with the groove I set. In a nutshell, it’s old school radio with a new age groove.  So find some ballerina shoes and be ready to extend your toes! Tune in and turn it up!

I grew up between the Sabine and Neches rivers in Southeast Texas where the music was alive with a special sauce, the people were strong in their belief that hard work and hard playing was the rule.  Juke joints were on every corner, including the Big Oaks in Vinton, Louisiana where the likes of Edgar Winter, Jerry LeCroix, GG Shinn, Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Gatemouth Brown, Lightnin’ Hopkins and, of course, Johnny Winter all brought the place alive.  After football on Friday nights, weekends were all about dancing, fighting and finding love.  It was special.  Special music, food and the people gave me the juice!  When I got out of the Corps and went to college up in Arkansas, I took up radio.  From there, it all fell into place and after a class with the world-famous Clyde Clifford, he invited me to do a gig on 100K-watt KLAZ FM in Little Rock.  Doc Holliday, ‘Woody’ the PD and Clyde Clifford, my mentor, showed me what FM was about… and it’s been a groove ever since!

Growing up in the Bayou country of Southeast Texas, I listened to lots of roots music, blues or Cajun, and I was always drawn to the grooves of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, "Wicked Picket," Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles -- and then there was our Boogie Kings.

There’s so much that I heard in '09, and what sticks is Ronnie Earl & the Broadcasters with LIVING IN THE LIGHT from the Blues Desk, Steve Earle's TOWNES, and Gretchen Peters and Tom Russell with ONE TO THE HEART, ONE TO THE HEAD.  In jazz, I really like this cat from Chicago, Rob Juice with BAD BOY LOVE
