FRIDAY HAPPY HOUR -- Eve
4 pm - 6:30 pm, Fridays -- Variety
You’ll hear just about anything!! I focus on new music at KAFM, live concerts, artist interviews and some of my favorite music played in-between.
I have to play some blues… old blues, new blues, repeat blues! Just blues! And oldies from the day. Tune in, phone in -- it’s all good.
Favorite music? You’ve got to be kidding me! I like it all. I grew up in the south where I was heavily influenced by all of the great soul singers: Otis Redding, Irma Thomas. And Motown: Martha and the Vandellas, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson. Until, of course, the British invasion. The Beatles changed my life forever!
There is so much great music in the world that I can’t limit to any favorite. (That’s probably why you’ll hear me playing blues, reggae, jazz and everything in-between.) My favorite quote is by John Cage:
”Music is edifying for from time to time, it sets the soul in operation.”
That pretty much covers it.
Favorite album? Oh geez… too many albums… too little time! ABBEY ROAD, THE WHITE ALBUM and RUBBER SOUL by the Beatles...LAYLA AND OTHER ASSORTED LOVESONGS by Derek and The Dominoes -- still can’t find much to top those!
