The Mighty

KAFM is the only local community radio station in the Grand Valley.  Broadcasting at 88.1 FM, KAFM wields a 'mighty' 16 watts to service a community of over 150,000 people.  KAFM also streams online at kafmradio.org.

KAFM seeks to provide our community with alternative music programming not otherwise available -- jazz, new age, adult alternative, blues, folk, world, bluegrass, big band and swing make KAFM's programming the most eclectic and interesting in the valley and beyond!

KAFM has over 250 volunteers, including over 100 volunteer DJs who help keep our sound fresh, interesting and consistent.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer DJ, contact our Program Director.  Off-air volunteers help during fund drives, outreach events and a multitude of behind-the-scenes volunteer jobs. About the development of our new Website

All of us at KAFM welcome you to our new web site.  Revising our web site has been a goal of ours for many years.  We first got our web site up and running years ago using passionate volunteers who helped us break the digital divide.  Since then, as many of you regulars to our site have discovered, the site had become stale and in dire need of renovation.

This year, in partnership with the extremely community-minded folks from designKiln, Andrea Metz and Lee Joramo, we are taking the next step in our goal to have a quality web presence.  Please look around our site and let us know what you think.  What you see today is Phase One of a multi-phase effort to make kafmradio.org a responsive, cutting edge addition to KAFM Community Radio.
