KAFM Staff

The people who keep the wheels turning!

The first thing you notice about the staff of KAFM is... it's small.  Most of the station's personnel are unpaid volunteers -- but there are a few positions which require the commitment and presence that a modest salary insures.  Ahoy, then!  Below are those hard-working and dedicated souls who captain the good ship KAFM through its daily journeys...

Tedi Gillespie - Executive Director

Tedi Gillespie

Tedi happily landed back in Grand Junction after a hiatus of 14 years following her husband Joey’s career moves. Originally from Boston and having worked many years in Washington DC, Tedi has a long history of working for and with non-profits and volunteer-supported organizations.

Tedi enjoys hiking, biking, boating, skiing and community-focused efforts that make this Valley so Grand!

Ramona Winkeller –Operations Manager

Ramona WinkellerAfter many years of living in the high mountain country of Colorado and traveling for corporate training, Ramona loves being in the high desert of the Grand Valley and being able to travel just for fun. Ramona loves being involved in creating community for KAFM radio and searching out her favorite music for shows. One of her favorite passions is finding the next band for an upcoming concert, or discovering the next event.

For fun, she likes to travel anywhere, be outside under the stars, swimming in hot springs and creating art.

Alicia Mitchell –Music Coordinator

Alicia MitchellOriginally, Alicia was supposed to be a rock star. However, after finding that she wasn't coordinated enough to be one, Alicia simply went to where she could always be surrounded by rock stars: Radio. Through this, she is able to discover new music and at least pretend to sing and play guitar. Her radio roots began at Mesa State College (At least, it was called that when she was there) through KMSA, and only grew after that. The Colorado native is proud to now be a part of KAFM and the community that it serves.

In addition to air guitar, Alicia loves drawing (especially new stuff for her tattoo collection), drinking a delicious beer (from Colorado, of course!), and being outside with her hubby and puppy. Oh, and the Beatles.

Mary Rogers –Operations Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator

Mary Rogers

Mary is a recent transplant to the Western Slope coming to us from south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Mary discovered KAFM through a concert in the Radio Room and from that first visit became an active volunteer at the front desk and at our many community events. She came on staff in August, 2012. Mary’s interest includes dancing to live music, cooking, reading and taking the road less traveled. Come on by the station and you’ll get a true southern welcome from Mary.

Cash Kiser – Events and Outreach Coordinator

Cash Kiser

Cash was born and raised in the Grand Valley and is a 2010 graduate from CMU with a bachelors in Marketing and Mass Communications.  He has recently returned to the Grand Valley (proving the Native American legend true) from Seattle, where he attended a year of film school.  He's also a part-time professional photographer. He enjoys mountain biking, hiking, playing table games and otherwise being outside and hanging with friends.  At KAFM, you can find him playing with strong magnets and trying to use chopsticks with his weak hand.  (Kidding.)  As KAFM's Event Coordinator, Cash will manage off-site, outreach events as well as booking and overseeing Radio Room concerts, rentals and events.
