In conjuction with the 21st Annual Rockies West National Watercolor Exhibit, Juror Laurel Covington-Vogl will be teaching a three day workshop on Feb 27, 28, and March 1 at The Art Center. Of her work, Laurel says, “The subject matter in my watercolor paintings reflects my interest in pattern, texture and shadows. Most of my paintings begin with my photographs, but are rarely direct duplicates of the photos. Developing a painting composition is like putting together a puzzle. Colors are intensified or muted to create a mood, objects are placed in different positions; imagery reversed; or several pictures combined into one composition.” Space for this excellent workshop is limited so contact the Western Colorado Watercolor Society for registration.
