In this workshop, students will use various techniques to create a mixed media work of art, using primarily Spectra bleeding art tissue instead of paint media. After staining watercolor paper in a printmaking style, they will use the dried tissue to collage upon their background. Illustrations can be added with black ink or colored pen. The process is serendipitous, spontaneous and full of surprises, resulting in bright, colorful, abstracted and representational images.
Deborah Robinson was originally a librarian, but reinvented herself as a self-taught artist after retiring from public service. She has been practicing art for herself and her students for fifteen years in workshops and private lessons.
