“Paws and Pies,” a fundraising event for Roice-Hurst Humane Society, will be held at the Hot Tomato Café & Pizzeria in Fruita on Saturday, Nov. 2nd.
10% of total sales that day, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., including alcohol and take-out, will benefit the homeless cats and dogs at the nonprofit animal shelter and adoption center.
In addition to the all day fundraiser, there will be some additional activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A few dogs that are available for adoption will be at the event, and Roice-Hurst will have an information table with RHHS merchandise and dog and cat quilt raffle tickets for sale. A representative from Chow Down Pet Supplies' new Fruita location will be onsite with giveaways that include goodie bags for dog owners (while supplies last) and a free drawing for a one-year supply of dog food and several gift baskets. The drawings will take place at 3pm. You need not be present to win.
The owners of Hot Tomato (located at 124 N. Mulberry Street), Jen and Anne, are big animal lovers with three dogs of their own. They enjoy helping out our furry friends at RHHS.
