Cary Morin Native Americana Fingerstyle Blues Guitar
Tim Duffy, The President of Music Makers Relief Foundation, calls Morin “a brilliant guitarist, heartfelt songwriter and soulful singer whose music gives us pause to reflect on life’s great rewards.”
Morin’s latest release, Sing It Louder, brings together the great musical traditions of America and beyond through his distinctive songwriting style and vocal delivery, described as “Van Morrison with a dusty-booted country tinge.”
Powered by ever-so-fleet acoustic fingerstyle guitar, Morin’s original songs showcase his imaginative “Native Americana Fingerstyle Blues,” while innovative covers such as Bob Marley’s War and Steely Dan’s Black Friday further display his ability to seamlessly combine strong elements of reggae, blues, jam, jazz, bluegrass and dance music into a solo acoustic performance.
Born a Crow tribal member in Billings, Montana, Morin spent most of his youth in Great Falls before relocating to Northern Colorado. Over twenty years later, the music has propelled him to celebrated stages across the country and the globe, including the Paris Jazz Festival, the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the Winter Park Jazz Festival, and Folk Alliance International, among the many. His performances have reached millions through national TV in Japan, France and the UK; and national radio in the U.S. (NPR’s Beale Street Caravan), UK (BBC’s Whose London), France (RFI), Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
Cary Morin currently performs solo, with The Pura Fe Trio, The Cary Morin Band, and The Atoll. For more information, visit www.CaryMorin.com, and follow him on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
