Past Lives - Alive Today
On Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 10 -1, Hilary DePolo poet and playwright will present a lecture/reading on the development of her exhibition, PAST LIVES. She will discuss the development of the concept, the final selection of the characters and the building of an ekphrastic exhibition with visual art. Her discussion will incorporate readings of some of her favorite poems from the exhibition.
DePolo is an award winning poet who has been a collector of people most of her life. As a student of theater she learned the first lesson in acting - portraying a character necessitated the observation of characters. Life on the Detroit bus gave her many opportunities. These lessons of observation have stayed with her and have come through her craft of poetry as her first collection CHARACTER SKETCHES and her second collection PAST LIVES.
