This August, celebrate the evolution of the American family as ReelTime @t the Radio Room presents the touching documentary DADDY & PAPA from award-winning filmmaker Johnny Symons.  The screening is scheduled for Thursday, August 20 at 7 pm.

In this intensely personal film, Symons turns the camera on himself and partner William Rogers to document their experience as a homosexual couple navigating the American adoption process.

It is an experience that exposes the complex issues surrounding gay adoption –- religious, socio-political and personal -– and highlights the tremendous opportunities presented by an expanding pool of same sex couples willing to open their hearts and homes to children in need of loving families.

In telling their story, Symons succeeds in normalizing an increasing trend in the fabric of American life while revealing rather surprising attitudes toward gay adoption that linger within the gay community itself.

By chronicling the experiences of other similar families throughout the U.S., DADDY & PAPA portrays the inherent difficulties associated with a nontraditional family makeup and the battles that continue to be fought in areas of the country less inclined to accept the homosexual community.

"DADDY & PAPA brings honesty, humor and humanity to its examination of a significant phenomenon in the ever-changing map of the American family."
