KAFM announced today that local author and blues historian, Fern Green, will be featured in their Lifelong Learning series in the Radio Room February 24 at 7 pm.
Rune master Fern Green presents basic history, explanations and interpretations for the Runes that have intrigued generations from Norse Heathen times to our modern “New Age." Runes are ancient and enigmatic symbols, documented in classic Norse sagas and celebrated by modern lore masters like Tolkien and have been long sought for mystic powers. They also point to the roots of our modern language and the power of communication itself… both among humans, and between us and the Divine. Spiritual seekers today continue to find inspiration in the Runes; some even describe their influence as magical. But what are these symbols really?
Fern Green is a writer and longtime member of the Grand Valley community. She has explored a variety of mythological and spiritual traditions, and is known for her friendly, practical approach to the Runic path. Her fun and informative presentation will appeal to anyone with an interest in language, traditional European cultures, spiritual growth or symbolism.
